  In the end of January 2006 Italian Amateur Championships were held. A competition was organized on a very high level. All events were ran in time respecting all the IDSF rules, even the anti doping tests were made. The level of the couples was high and many of them are very well known abroad and are winners or finalists of the Worlds biggest competitions.

  By the number of the strongest standard dancers and teachers Italy is one of the first countries in the world as for many years there were many world champions and finalists in all the age groups.

  In the 10-Dance program more than 50 couples participated, In Latin American and Ballroom programs more than 200 couples took part in the competition and the winners in Latin are Stefano and Annalisa Di Filippo, second Langella Aniello and Nataliya Maidiuk. In Ballroom program the winners are Domenico Soale and Gioia Cerasoli, second Paolo Bosco and Silvia Pitton.

  Domenico Canizzaro and Irina Novojilova won 10-Dance program. All these couples are already winners and finalists of the World Championships. A lot of people came to watch the competition since ballroom dancing is one of the most popular sports in Italy, so an atmosphere was very nice and warm.

 A famous TV program " Ballando con le Stelle" where many dancers and well known people like actors, singers, models, etc..took part became the most popular program in Italy. Dancing is one of the most popular subjects of lots of TV channels now. Many dancers took part in different programs and shows. The director of the main Italian TV channel was present at the Italian championships as well.
